Ben Read has successfully pastored churches in rural and suburban areas for several years in the North Texas Annual Conference. He has been a Camp Director for children's camps, teacher at Regional Schools of Christian Mission for the United Methodist Women, and Community Spiritual Director for the Red River Emmaus Community in the Wichita Falls Area. Ben did his undergraduate work in Biology and Chemistry at McMurry University in Abilene, TX and graduate work in theology at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He met his future wife, Stella while serving as a lifeguard/ dishwasher at Ceta Canyon Methodist Camp near Canyon, TX. They married in 1971 and have four grown children and nine grandchildren. Josh Kouri is a Master of Divinity student at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. and a Certified Candidate for the office of elder in the United Methodist Church. He received a Bachelor's of Arts in Government and Pre-Law from New Mexico State University and a certificate of completion from Perkins School of Youth Ministry. He has four and half years of previous youth ministry experience working with youth on a local, district and conference level. Josh is a native of New Mexico where his parents and two brothers still reside. He enjoys hiking, fishing, cooking, reading, and travel. Frances has called Axe home for a number of years, having spent most of her teenage years here, and being married here as well. She has grown up in church music as her mother was a church choir director for many years. She has directed children, youth, and adult choirs, as well as handbells, orchestra, and a praise team. She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance. Frances met her husband Scott while at ORU in the music department. Terri Knagg is currently an elementary music teacher with Garland ISD. She has worked with various children’s choruses for many years and has a heart for teaching music. Terri is married to John Knagg, who grew up at Axe Methodist, and has a wonderful daughter Allie. Terri graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a bachelor of science in all-level music education. She is also Orff Level I certified. The Axe Angel choir, ages 3-11, meets every Sunday evening from 5:00-5:30. Melinda Ayers, Children’s Outreach and Mothers’ Day Out Director

Melinda is a graduate of Garland High School and has been a part of the Axe family most of her life. She is attending the University of Phoenix to earn an Associates Degree in Psychology. Melinda is blessed with two amazing teenagers and spends much of her time as an advocate for children through volunteer opportunities and various projects. It is her prayer to share the love of Christ with all children while also helping to give them a strong sense of value and self worth that can only be found through faith in Jesus Christ. Melinda is a member of United Methodist Women and serves on the Youth Leadership Team. Jo has a wide variety of interests and hobbies. She also tries to spend as much time as she can with her great grandchildren. She is the mother of two, grandmother of six, and great grandmother of eight.
